Sunday School and Child Care
Is. 54:13 — "And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children."
The Sunday School meets at 11:00 am, the same time as the Sunday service, and welcomes children between the ages of 3 and 20. All Sunday School teaching is based on the King James Version of The Bible. The Christian Science textbook by Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, is used to help explain the spiritual meaning of the Bible.
Sunday School students are placed in classes according to age or grade and learn about the love of God and how to apply Christ Jesus' teachings to their daily lives. Among the first lessons taught are:
- The Ten Commandments
- The Lord's Prayer with its spiritual interpretation
- Christ Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, and
- Bible stories and healings from both the Old and New Testaments
Older students study the weekly Bible Lesson Sermon from the Christian Science Quarterly and explore practical spirituality through asking questions and discussion. All students are encouraged to apply what they are learning during their week.
Infants and toddlers too young for Sunday School will feel right at home in our Child Care room. Care is available at all church services.
